Sarah grew up in Hong Kong and spent over 15 years doing makeup for TV actresses, pop artists, and brides at some of the city's most formal high-society weddings. Precision wasn't optional. When the cameras are rolling and the family is watching, there is no room for anything less than exactly right.

When she moved to the Bay Area to be with her husband, she started meeting a different kind of bride.

She noticed something that surprised her.

Chinese and Asian-American brides here were navigating something that brides in Hong Kong never had to: two completely different sets of expectations happening on the same day. Their moms wanted traditional. Their vision boards were modern. The tea ceremony was non-negotiable — but so was looking like themselves, not like a TVB drama. And most makeup artists they found understood one world beautifully but had never really lived in the other.

That's the gap Sarah built Sarah Image to fill.

What Sarah Brings to Your Wedding Day

Sarah specializes in bridal makeup for modern Chinese and Asian-American brides in the Bay Area — brides who want to look natural, elegant, and camera-ready from the first tea ceremony moment to the last dance of the night.

She works with Asian skin tones and facial structure every day. She understands what photographs beautifully on Chinese brides — not just in theory, but from years of watching how light, lens, and hours of wear actually behave on real wedding days.

She knows the kua. She knows the tea ceremony. She knows how the red of a qipao reads differently on camera than in person, and how to build a makeup look that works for both your Western ceremony and your tea ceremony without making you look like two different people.

And because she speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, and English fluently, she can work with you, your mom, and your grandmother — on the same morning, in the same room, with everyone feeling heard.

How Sarah Works

Sarah is a perfectionist — but the warm kind.

She will notice the things you don't even think to mention: how your dress neckline interacts with your face shape, how the banquet lighting will hit differently than the ceremony light, whether your lashes are the right weight for the photos your photographer typically shoots. She thinks about all of it so you don't have to.

On your wedding morning, her goal is simple: you should feel calm, cared for, and completely yourself — just on your best day.

The Bridal Beauty Preview

Before your wedding day, Sarah offers a Bridal Beauty Preview — a dedicated session where she gets to know your skin, your style, your ceremony details, and your comfort level.

This is not just a trial. It is the session where you stop wondering what you'll look like and start knowing.

It is also where Sarah gives you honest guidance on your tea ceremony look, how your kua color affects your makeup choices, and how to prepare your skin in the weeks leading up to the wedding.

Most brides say the Preview is the moment the stress of wedding planning finally started to feel manageable.

Sarah takes a limited number of brides each season to make sure every client gets her full attention. If your wedding date is coming up, the best first step is a quick inquiry — even just to check availability.
